Sheffield United midfielder Gary Speed says he wants to continue playing for the Blades next season.

The 38-year-old told BBC Radio Sheffield: "I haven't got long left as a footballer and I want to concentrate totally on football."

Speed's deal with the club includes a coaching option but he says playing still remains his top priority.

"I've got a contract for next season so hopefully I'll be playing, that's the aim anyway."
