Graham Westley says he still is unclear as to the reason he was sacked as Rushden manager.
The former Stevenage and Farnborough boss was unexpectedly sacked after Saturday's 2-2 draw at Aldershot.
He had lifted the Diamonds out of the relegation zone and was on an unbeaten league run of seven matches.
"I'm only guessing that while Garry was available, they felt he was the better man to take the club forward," he told BBC Radio Northampton.
"So they made the decision to move me out and bring him in which you have to commend in terms of the courage of the decision and I genuinely wish the club all the very best in going forward.''
