Queen of the South have moved to sign former Hamilton goalkeeper Bryn Halliwell on a one-year contract.

The 27-year-old was released by Accies in May despite making 23 starts in their promotion-winning season.

The Englishman was one of three keepers on trial with Queens - the others being ex-Aberdeen man Ryan Esson and Kevin Cuthbert, formerly of St Johnstone.

He will be a familiar face in the First Division with Clyde, Dunfermline and St Johnstone among his former clubs.
