However, McGhee recognises that money talks in football.

"Whilst I don't have anything on the agenda, other clubs could be making plans and, if that happens and they want to try and lure me away then it'll be up to Motherwell to keep me.

"Where some other club may have ambitions of trying to tempt me, Motherwell have the capability of making sure that I don't go.

"So, as far as I am concerned, I will be here."

McGhee is excited at the prospect of playing European football next season but warned that it would not mean big spending in the transfer market.

"The board at Motherwell have been giving me all the backing they can," he said.

"When I took the job, I was made fully award of the financial situation at the club, so I don't suddenly think that, because we made third spot and into the Uefa Cup, that we should suddenly have millions to spend.

"Ideally, I would like to add four or five, but they have to be the quality that we've added this season.

"We've got to develop the quality and ability as well as the depth, especially now that we face a European campaign."

Motherwell entertain Rangers on Saturday in a game that could decide whether the visitors or Celtic win the Scottish Premier League title.

McGhee said he would be guarding against any slacking off now that third place had been won and hoped that Rangers would be tired from their midweek Uefa Cup final defeat.

"Physically, they've had a tough journey and we might be able to take advantage of that," he said.

"But, in saying that, they've had that for the last while and coped tremendously well."
