Teenage defender Joe Tait has signed his first professional contract with Hartlepool United.

The 18-year-old centre-back impressed the League One club's coaching staff playing in both their reserve and youth team sides.

Tait rose through the academy ranks to establish himself as a regular part of the club's reserve team.

Pools' reserves won the Pontins League Division One East following their 5-2 victory against Sheffield United.
