Eagles swoop for youngster Andrew

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of young Luton Town striker Calvin Andrew, for a fee believed to be around £80,000.

The 21-year-old made his debut for the Eagles during a 4-3 friendly win over Aldershot on Thursday evening.

Andrew made 67 appearances for the Hatters, scoring six goals.

"We've signed Calvin now, but it's nothing like the £400,000 that's been reported," Palace manager Neil Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser.

Andrew will provide valuable competition in the Palace attack, who recently lost Clinton Morrison.

The Republic of Ireland international turned down a new contract with the South London side.

"We are pleased to have him because we don't have anybody like him in the squad," added Warnock.

Plymouth failed in a bid for the youngster in January.
