Crossley ready for Wales recall

Rejuvenated goalkeeper Mark Crossley says he would end his international retirement if needed by Wales.

"If Wales have problems I'm only a phone call away and would gladly come back," Crossley, 37, told BBC Sport.

"I stopped for personal reasons. I was going through a divorce and worried about my children."

Goalkeeper has been a problem position for Wales, but Crossley says that manager John Toshack is right to push youngsters Lewis Price and Jason Brown.

"Paul Jones is at the wrong end of his career and the next generation - Lewis and Jason - have got to start to come through," said Fulham keeper Crossley, enjoying a successful loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday.

"As for me, I'm going strong, feeling great, and I'm keen to keep enjoying myself and playing for as long as I can - I'll give up when nobody wants me anymore!

"I'm also taking my coaching badges, so I hope that I can stay in the game at some level after I retire."
