If coaching cricket is your dream job we've got everything you need to get started.
The England and Wales Cricket Board is implementing a new training structure throughout 2005 and 2006.
Each of the five levels takes about two years to complete, with a compulsory workshop between levels three and four.

ECB COACHING ASSISTANT
The first step on the coaching ladder, this course qualifies candidates to assist more qualified coaches in delivering aspects of coaching sessions, normally under direct supervision.
ECB COACH
A trained ECB coach will be qualified to prepare for, deliver and review coaching sessions.
This course will help you to be able to:

Introduce and develop the game of cricket to people of all ages in a fun and enjoyable way

Develop Fundamental movement skills

Develop and improve players (as people as well as cricketers) particularly at Fundamental and L2T stages of the LTAD model

Develop your coaching skills, knowledge and qualities

Demonstrate competence against UKCC2/National Standard for coaches
What's required of you
To fulfil the course requirements, you have to:

Attend the Good Practice and Child Protection Course (or equivalent)

Attend the Cricket Coach First Aid Appointed Persons course (or equivalent)

Complete the assignments set

Complete the home study packs and associated assessments

Complete successfully the support practice module (min 10 hours) and produce the associated evidence

Submit your record of coaching and assignments prior to your assessment day

Attend an assessment day where you will be asked to coach a group of players and have a follow up exam on this and your record of coaching and assignments with an ECB assessor

Demonstrate all the competences required for an ECB Coach Award
ECB HEAD COACH
The next rung on the coaching ladder is the ECB Head Coach course.
Available from September 2006, this course trains candidates to plan, implement and revise annual training programmes.
ECB MASTER COACH
It takes a long time to reach the top of the pile, but if you decide to go this far you'll learn the skills required to play a key role in the future of English cricket.
Backed up by years of training and coaching, the Master Coach course trains candidates to design, implement and evaluate the process and outcome of long-term specialist coaching programmes.
