Scotland women lose hockey opener
Scotland were beaten 2-1 by New Zealand in their opening group match of the women's hockey tournament.

The Kiwis appeared to have wrapped up the match when they led by two goals with just six minutes remaining, but Scotland launched a late fightback.

Samantha Judge's 64th-minute goal triggered a Scottish revival but they were denied an equaliser by the tough Kiwi defence.

New Zealand are fancied to finish in group B's top two along with England.

England play their first game on Friday against Canada, who routed Barbados 4-0 earlier on Thursday.

New Zealand take on Barbados on Friday while Scotland meet England on Saturday.
