Arrests after man is shot in head

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 26-year-old man was shot in the head in Berkshire.

Police are investigating whether the victim was targeted by someone lying in wait near Mead Close, in Caversham, Reading, on the evening of 5 May.

The victim is recovering in hospital where he is said to be stable.

Officers said they would be executing a number of search warrants at addresses around Reading on Monday. They continue to appeal for witnesses.

On Monday morning a 27-year-old man was arrested.

In the afternoon a 28-year-old Tilehurst man was also detained on suspicion of attempted murder. Both are being held in custody.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen a man, dressed in black and sat on a dark-coloured motorbike.

They want to speak to anyone who was in the area between 1600 BST and 2200 BST.
