AC/DC singer Brian Johnson has said he is 'overwhelmed' by the success of their new album Black Ice, which has entered at number one in the US chart.
The album has become the second biggest debut of the year on the US chart with sales of more than 780,000 copies.
"It's overwhelming, and quite hard to take in," said the Australian group's lead singer.
"Even an old dog like me has a few more surprises in life, I guess," he added.
The group beat the latest High School Musical release which reached the number two spot.
AC/DC joined the likes of the Eagles and Journey, who have all had strong US success selling exclusively through retail giant Wal-Mart.
The CD has topped the charts in 29 countries since its release.
